The forefoot is designed with enough space for the foot to sit naturally without feeling compressed, while the construction helps reduce pressure around the instep and sides of the foot. At the heel, a soft construction and
strategically positioned seams help reduce friction in areas where traditional dress shoes can cause discomfort or blisters.

At the same time, the shoe provides lateral stability while remaining flexible during the natural roll-through of the foot.

For this reason, Zaffiro focuses not only on immediate comfort but also on providing a stable shoe construction and the possibility of using appropriate insoles when required.

Many people who use individual orthopedic insoles face a simple problem: most elegant dress shoes are not designed to accommodate them properly.

The removable footbed allows customers to use their own orthopedic insoles where suitable. At the same time, the shoe provides a stable base and sufficient internal space without making the shoe look bulky from the outside.

No. They are dress shoes designed with the foot in mind: room for custom insoles, a removable comfort insole, a cushioned heel and a toe shape that does not squeeze. If you have a medical condition, talk to your orthopedist about which insole is right for you.

Zaffiro shoes are designed to feel comfortable from the first wear, with a soft heel construction, sufficient space in the forefoot and a smooth roll-through.

A short break-in period may still be required, as the high-quality calf leather and internal construction gradually adapt to the shape and movement of your foot. However, for many, little to no break-in period is necessary.

If a break-in period is needed, the shoe should become increasingly comfortable with wear rather than causing prolonged discomfort.

Yes.

The standard Zaffiro footbed is removable, allowing many individual orthopedic insoles to be inserted.

However, orthopedic insoles vary significantly in width, thickness and construction. Particularly wide or bulky insoles, such as some insoles designed for military or work boots, may not fit optimally inside an elegant dress shoe.

As a general rule, we recommend choosing your usual size in classic men’s dress shoes.

If you mainly wear sneakers, you may need approximately one size smaller, as sneakers often fit differently from traditional leather shoes.

If you intend to use your own orthopedic insoles, their thickness and width should also be taken into account when selecting your size.

Zaffiro shoes are handcrafted in Naples, Italy, using traditional shoemaking techniques.

The upper is made from high-quality calf leather, and the shoe is Blake-stitched. The Blake stitching uses a waxed or greased thread to help protect the seam against moisture and improve its durability.

The outsole is made from leather and includes an anti-slip section, while the heel incorporates additional cushioning to soften impact during walking.

Remove surface dust and dirt regularly using a soft horsehair brush.

Apply a suitable leather cream periodically to nourish the leather and restore its appearance. After applying the cream, polish the shoe with a soft brush or polishing cloth.

Avoid applying excessive amounts of product. A small amount used regularly is preferable to heavy applications.

For best results, insert shoe trees after wearing the shoes and allow them to rest between uses.

Visible wear on a leather sole is completely normal, particularly during the first few wears.

The smooth surface gradually develops marks and abrasion as the sole adapts to the ground.

This does not mean that the shoe is damaged. Leather soles are designed to wear gradually and can be repaired or replaced when necessary.

The shoe should be inspected once the outsole or heel begins to show significant wear.

The heel should ideally be repaired before the wear reaches the main heel structure.

Similarly, the leather outsole should be repaired or resoled before it becomes extremely thin or the underlying construction is exposed.

Early maintenance is usually simpler and helps preserve the shoe for longer.

Regular care makes a significant difference.

Use shoe trees after wearing your shoes to help maintain their shape and absorb residual moisture.

Allow the shoes to rest between wears rather than wearing the same pair every day.

Brush the leather regularly and use appropriate shoe cream when necessary.

Avoid leaving the shoes wet. If they become damp, allow them to dry naturally at room temperature and keep them away from radiators or other direct heat sources.

Finally, repair worn heels or soles early rather than waiting until the underlying shoe construction is damaged.
